Mojave Phone Booth
The industrial rock duo Mojave Phone Booth will release their third studio album, “Blood Doctor Volume One”, via Label 51 Recordings. The digital edition is scheduled for June 20, 2025, with LP and CD formats following on June 27.
Formed by Mitchell J Doran and Tobey Torres-Doran, the band draws on their roots in the late-’90s industrial rock act Snake River Conspiracy. “Blood Doctor Volume One” marks their most experimental and aggressive album to date, blending abrasive textures, melodic structures, and propulsive electronic rhythms.
The album was preceded by three digital singles: “Unrelated”, “Capsule Change”, and “Ceramic”. You can check out the band below on Spotify.
“Sounds we were inspired by this time were recycling trucks, mechanical telephone switching systems and electronic voice phenomena,”Mitchell Doran explains. “We used a wide range of instruments and equipment to create a careful selection of textures.”
The duo’s creative partnership began in Snake River Conspiracy, where Tobey Torres-Doran served as lead vocalist. She toured extensively with acts such as A Perfect Circle and Filter while signed to Warner Records. Mitchell J Doran, originally a session musician and recording engineer, joined Snake River Conspiracy as guitarist and programmer. The two later formed Mojave Phone Booth and began developing a sound characterized by analog experimentation and studio-crafted precision.
Their previous album “Hollow The Numbers” (2023) was written and recorded at their home studio in Northern California. Like its predecessor, “Blood Doctor Volume One” was also entirely self-produced using analog gear – some of it built by the artists themselves.
About Mojave Phone Booth
Mojave Phone Booth was formed by Mitchell J Doran and Tobey Torres-Doran after their work together in Snake River Conspiracy. Based in the Bay Area, the duo launched their studio project in the early 2000s, drawing on their background in industrial rock and analog engineering.
Their debut release as Mojave Phone Booth established their analog-driven style, which evolved further on “Hollow The Numbers” (2023). Both artists have extensive experience with major labels, with Torres-Doran previously signed to Warner Records and Doran contributing to sessions for bands such as Dio and Queensrÿche.
Mojave Phone Booth is known for using their home studio and self-built equipment to craft immersive electronic soundscapes, often described as where industrial rock meets analog experimentation.
